It has been awhile since my last post about my (coming) journey. Here I am – at Ko Racha Yai, Phuket Thailand – beautiful island about 20 nautical miles off Phuket Island. Ko Racha Yai is a small , isolated paradise. There are a couple of other resorts on the island , but they do not come close to quality and location of Racha Yai. The Racha sits on Patok Bay which has by far the best beach and outlook. The beach is fine white sand and the water turquoise crystal clear , ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
I’m staying here; Ban Raya Resort & Spa for 5 nights. I was entirely sure we are going to experience much sunshine – warmth definitely + humid! I’m sweating like I’m at sauna : P
Meet the ‘fortune tree’.
It’s like 5 star swimming pool to me. Well accommodated & equipped.
Marina Bay’s tropical version 😛
The sun were in a good mood and for the past 3 days, we witnessed this beautiful island bathed in sunshine, shrouded in blue skies, and the white beach a welcoming mat to the beautiful clear turquoise waters of Patok Bay and the Andaman Sea beyond. Simply stunning !
Here are few snippets of information about this amazing island:
Racha Yai is one of the nicest islands to simply get away from everything and relax. Less boats and tourists visit this island and Jet Skis & Para sailing are officially banned.
The beaches are white powdery sand with plenty of space to spread out. Remember, we need space, no? LOL 😛
The sun lounge chairs for rent are spaced a good distance apart from each other and there is only one row unlike the crowded beaches of Phuket and Coral Island where the chairs are sometimes 5-6 deep.
Sightseeing, snorkeling and scuba diving services are available from tour operators in town. They are please to help 🙂
A hilltop viewpoint on the bay’s south offers a magnificent view of the whole island. The view during sunset was magnificent and I was in awe. Unfortunately I didn’t capture any 😥
Looking back towards Phuket from Siam Beach is one of the best things to do. Most visitors to Racha Yai come to escape the noise and distractions of Phuket and Coral Island. If you looking for peace and relaxing vacay, this is the best place for you. I saw quite numbers of family as well as couples here 🙂
I enjoyed my time here thus far. You should come and experience here. Definitely a new experience and worth vacay. #rachayai #banraya #phuket
Until we meet again!
