Salam Nuzul Quran.
I will share with you the significance of Nuzul Quran. Known as the Quran Revelation Day, this holiday Commemorates the day when the words of the Quran were first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
The Quran is the holy book of Islam, which is believed to be a revelation from Allah. Nuzul (which roughly translates as revelation) Al-Quran takes place on the 17th day of the month of Ramadan (which is today). It was on this day of the muslim calendar that the first verse of the Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW, hence the celebration of Nuzul Quran.
The Prophet Muhammad was in a cave on Mount Hira’, close to Mecca, when the angel Jibrail (Gabriel) appeared and revealed the first five lines of Surah Al-Alaq (chapter 96 of the Quran).

Following this first revelation, Muhammad received many revelations of holy text for the rest of his life (a further twenty three years). The revelations were recorded by scribes and after the death of Muhammad SAW, they compiled them in texts. The version of these texts that became the Quran was established by Khalifah (Caliph) Uthman.
Firman Allah SWT:
- Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn (the mankind). (Surah ad-Dukhan, ayat 3)
- Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree (Lailatul Qadr). (Surah al-Qadr, ayat 1)
- During the month of Ramadan the Qur’an was sent down as a guidance to the people with Clear Signs of the true guidance and as the Criterion (between right and wrong). So those of you who live to see that month should fast it, and whoever is sick or on a journey should fast the same number of other days instead. Allah wants ease and not hardship for you so that you may complete the number of days required,186 magnify Allah for what He has guided you to, and give thanks too Him.187 (Surah al-Baqarah, ayat 185)
Salam 17th Ramadhan. Salam Nuzul Quran.
